Exceptional sweetness. 55 Days. Merlin is a hybrid beet that has an exceptional eating quality and very attractive dark green, glossy tops. Its roots are uniform and round with a refined tap root and have a dark red interior color that tolerates zoning during drought and adverse weather. The tall 15-17" tops hold their dark green color throughout the season and lend themselves well to the fresh bunched beet market. Merlin receives high ratings for sugar content, and it also tolerates downy mildew and cercospora.
