Sunflowers in this grouping are not male sterile, and will therefore produce pollen. To reduce the amount of pollen, it’s generally recommended to cut the flowers just as the first couple of petals start to unfold, thus reducing the maturation of the flower into the pollen stage. There a number of excellent sunflower varieties in this group in terms of flower color and productivity.
